Assists when needed to perform all utility designating and locating field functions related to public & private utility lines, including gas, electric, streetlights, overhead wires, fiber optic, telecom, water, storm sewer, sanitary sewer.

Assist surveying crews with the collection of field designated paint marks.
Ability to travel throughout Colorado and the United States in support of projects.
Ensure a safe work environment and ensure proper PPE attire for field crews.
OSHA Safety certifications are a plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Education Requirements:
Ability to supervise and train others.
Familiarity with field designating equipment including the Radiodetection RD8100PDL, Vivax Metrotech vLocPro2, Magnetic Locators, and detectable rodders.
Familiarity with GPR processes, procedures, uses and limitations.
Minimum 5-years of experience as a Utility Locator/SUE Technician or 4-years in the successful application of geophysical equipment for a contract utility locating firm or a major utility company, of which at least 1-year was in a supervisory or management position.
Mental/Physical Demands:
Ability to perform physical movements, commensurate with operating heavy tools and equipment.
Ability to work outdoors in all climates and field conditions.
Ability to travel throughout Colorado and the United States in support of projects.
Qualifications:
Five (5) years of utility locating, designating, or SUE experience is required.
Familiarity with MicroStation and/or other CAD/PDF platforms for field sketching is required.
Prior utility or geophysical related experience is required.
Must have solid time management with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
Must be organized and thorough in project related tasks.
Must have good communication and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to learn basic land surveying data collection processes is preferred.
Ability to mentor staff internally or in other departments is needed.
Ability to learn new software to support both field and office operations is needed.
Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures is required.
All activities will be under the direct supervision of a licensed engineer or licensed surveyor.
DOT and municipal experience is preferred.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
